FACULTY DEAN - LAW Job Descriptions

Job Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Must have a PhD or equivalent Academic Doctoral Degree in Law or related field
Must have evidence of Academic leadership
Must have evidence of administrative experience
Must have taught for a least seven (7) years at University level
Should be at the level of Senior Lecturer and above
Should be proficient in computer packages

Job Responsibilities
Be a link between the faculty and various professionals, other faculties, alumni directorate and institutions;
Coordinate staff and students recruitment in the faculty;
Ensure effective implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) in the faculty;
Lead the faculty in resource mobilization to ensure availability of essential resources to support faculty programmes;
Monitor and evaluate strategic and development plans, realistically and timely
Offer academic leadership to the faculty hence promoting quality research, teaching and community service programmes in the faculty;
Organize and chair Faculty Academic and Examination board meetings;
Oversee budget development and implementation as the Chief Accounting Officer in the Faculty;
Oversee timely processing of trimester examinations as the Chief Examination Officer of the faculty;
Oversee/supervise all functions of the faculty including formulating and reviewing all programmes;
Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Present students for graduation;
Promote a conducive working environment in the faculty including spiritual and social welfare;
Promote professional development of all staff;
Promote unity, justice and peace in the faculty;
Promote University’s Mission, Vision and Core Values;
Represent the Faculty in the University Management Board, Senate and other Committees
Supervise and appraise the Heads of Departments, lecturers and administrative staff within the Faculty;
